December slant of light

The sun
in December
dwindles in the realm of time
This seeming deficiency is overcome
as the low slung slant of light across the horizon
catches subtle nuances of
detailed promise
in seed
for the spring to come

Winds of Change

Winds of change
blow out the clear of calm
ruffle the edges of complacency
texturize reflections
set rippling nuances to our perspective

November song

Late November hues
blacken branches
dripping muffled sighs
bemoaning late apologies
for twice-fold dimming flight

Then a moment, a reprieve
suddenly brought to light
catch a slanting sun
a flash -- a slant
waves strum ultra violet song

Reflect

Having made her mysterious presence
She
the Ice Goddess
pushes me daily
 to her watery shore
where cumulus reflections ripple
 with atmospheric breadth
recalling back ... rings of laughter
    those swallow fledglings
 in July's playful flight
...coming now...
to feel
 this moment's own
 grey winter specked sight.

Ice Goddess

Over night she appeared
from a sudden, first of the season, snowy deep frost

Struck by awe, I was
seeing her standing there
on her icy platform

Shining in dawn's pure light
wings spread
to ride the currents blowing in
a great change

Thyme Time

Time is up for this thyme
patches browning brittle dry
broken heads of goddesses
witness
and wait
uncertainty creeping round
for a sign

do nothing,,, the first rule
sustainable
self-sufficient

....breathe....

Indian Summer

Can't let go of summer
so
nature gives a short repeat
autumn heat
enough to swim
 for old times sake
with a new spin

 crickets
scour their legs
message their treble sound
early slanted light

Lake Tahoe Anonymous Art

it seems that humans can't help but arrange debris on a beach to satisfy the inner urge to create.
The last most likely produced unwittingly by squirrels and/or the wind.

Plums

Plums

Old tree
cut down in a stroke of meanness
It thrived
under the earth
Shoots reached slowly
out from the source
stealthily
seeking a wary spot
growing, unnoticed
after years of solitude
 a new tree
with many tributaries
into the hands
of an accepting pruner
then giving it's gifts
year after year.

Dance of change

Orange
meets red
                                         one color
 can't outdo the other

SUN
red advances
with her long wavelength
 Orange is nanometers away

CLOUD
spectrum's other side
signals blue green
spitting their calm
over the fire of
redorange

dance of change

Fronds

Out doors
Bar on the beach
one margarita
Pacific rays
catch the lines'
vibrating
wayward fronds
